I'm thrilled to share how I've been applying Learning Engineering practices to my Phase I NIEHS SBIR project (hstcopilot.com)!

I extricated and polished the functionality into https://leedtracker.com

From my initial exposure to Lauren Totino and Aaron Kessler's LEED (Learning Engineering Evidence and Decision) tracker and its evolution, I found it mapped incredibly well into my weekly sprints for ed tech course and systems development.

What was missing for me was a way to document scope-impacting decisions. These decisions have real cost or time impacts on the project and are part of the reality in Learning Engineering Evidence and Decision tracking for my world.

By adapting this tool, regular reporting to stakeholders and consciousness of the financial or schedule impact of decisions is now baked into communications in a non-antagonistic manner. Just what I needed!

The LEED framework has been invaluable for keeping the project grounded in evidence while being transparent about the practical constraints we face. Highly recommend exploring this approach if you're managing complex ed tech development projects.

I'll be presenting on this approach at LERN in February if you'd like to hear more about how we adapted the LEED tracker for the SBIR R&D lifecycle.
