xAPI In Real Life (IRL) — Hitting the 90% Mark

Wanted to share a milestone update on something we've been building at inXsol — xAPI IRL (In Real Life), (https://xapiirl.com/) a platform that uses AI speech recognition to listen to live, unscripted human interactions and generate xAPI statements from them. The idea is straightforward even...

HST Copilot Phase I SBIR work product

Beyond the Bot: How Agentic AI Teams are Engineering the Future of High-Stakes Safety In the chaotic aftermath of a disaster—whether a chemical spill, a hurricane, or a structural collapse—the "readiness gap" is where lives are lost. An untrained workforce of cleanup and rebuilding crews...

    Mapping IEEE 1484.20.3 JSON-LD to 1EdTech, CTDL-ASN, CaSS

Awesome support from the CASS project team (https://github.com/cassproject/cass-editor) identifying some compliance details with my CTDL-ASN. Testing fine now.

Excited to Share - Applying Learning Engineering and LEED to NIEHS SBIR Phase I

I'm thrilled to share how I've been applying Learning Engineering practices to my Phase I NIEHS SBIR project (hstcopilot.com)! I extricated and polished the functionality into https://leedtracker.com From my initial exposure to Lauren Totino and Aaron Kessler's LEED (Learning Engineering...

xAPI LRS Auth Proxy - Reference Implementation for cmi5 Session-Based Security

Background: cmi5 Security Model Evolution In the IEEE LTSC cmi5 working group, we're currently defining the minimum security rights an Assignable Unit (AU, also known as a Learning Record Provider/LRP) has for reading and writing to the LRS. While the default isolation model (actor + activity +...

Using the ADL LRS Conformance Test Suite

Over the holidays, I needed to verify a cmi5 Launch Model LMS / LRS combination and decided to spin up an instance of the open-source ADL LRS Conformance Test Suite (https://github.com/adlnet/lrs-conformance-test-suite). I have used cmi5 Catapult (https://github.com/adlnet/CATAPULT) in the...

    Mapping IEEE 1484.20.3 JSON-LD to 1EdTech, CTDL-ASN, CaSS

I ended up iterating in TLA Toolbox on a CTDL-ASN export format to exercise portability to CASS https://cassproject.org/ .. and now TLA Toolbox authors to IEEE 1484.20.3-2022 (IEEE SCD) but that seems to have more data than CTDL-ASN for rubric information based on my current understanding.

Bridging Competency Definitions and Evidence: Introducing the Rubric Assertion Profile (RAP)

Why I'm Sharing This I'm building this into the TLA Toolbox platform as a reference model, but before I get too far down the path, I want to: Get feedback — Does this approach make sense? Are there obvious problems I'm missing? Learn from the community — Am I reinventing something that already...

Bridging Competency Definitions and Evidence: Introducing the Rubric Assertion Profile (RAP)

The Problem I'm Trying to Solve I've been working with IEEE Shareable Competency Definitions (SCDs) and xAPI for evidence-based competency assertion, and I keep hitting the same challenge: there's a gap between the definition of a competency (especially one with a rubric) and the operational...

Tools to build learning assets and custom xAPI on back end that don't lock you in to a platform?

With Grok or Chat GPT it possible to ask/prompt for a HTML/Javascript course navigation shell which is cmi5 compliant and direct it to have a robust xAPI library and use a XML or JSON for the navigation loading "frames" of content and ask it to produce a portfolio of frame templates (multiple...
